Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until fragrant but not browned, about 1 minute.

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with 1/4 cup of the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine, adding more pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.

Remove the skillet from the heat. Add the chopped fresh herbs, Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5
Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
